Nice
I've used a lot of different clears before and when I wet sand them they all feel the same
I start off with 1000 grit until it's flat then 1500 then 2000
On my personal cars I've gone from 1000-2500
I went up to 3000 once I didn't see no difference after 2000.
And it's pretty hard to drip that clear too So you should be good

speaking of drips, there are 2 on the hood. What grit is best to flatten these with and any tips you recommend? And yeah, is there anything like waiting too long to buff the clear, Is 4 weeks + too long?
and should I - wet? - sand the drips sooner or do it when I am buffing.

I start with the dewalt rotary
I use 3m rubbing compound with a wool pad
2nd pass I use a foam pad
3rd pass i use 3m polish (3m black foam pad)
4th pass use 3m polish again
And if there's some swirls I use the flex d.a. with meguriars swirl remover
On the drips they have to be really dry before you try to sand them off you can rip them right off if there not fully dry
I use a wooden mixing stick and make my own flat block
I'll say use a blade too to shave it but kind of risky of you do it wrong
On drips use a little bit of 800 to knock it down then 1000 1500 then 2000

Yeah. It covered good with nothing showing through to the edges. But if I were to do it again I would most likely remove those windows as I think it would make it easier.
Not planning to paint the bay, just painted the edge of the fenders. The engine bay is actually in grey and wasn't the same silver as the body was originally so it doesn't stick out but actually looks quite normal. Like its meant to be that way.

I thought about changing the strip to match but I actually like it orange. In fact I would only have considered putting red stripes on wheels until I bought these which already had the stripe. Then I realised how much I like it, or it grew on me.
Not entirely perfect but I'll see how many people notice the flaws and if it'll be worth rectifying it.
Bit dirty here and still haven't buffed the clear as yet.
