HELP!! I think I got ripped off...need pics of a new Stillen grill!

Anyone that has ordered a Stillen mesh grill please IM me. I got one off of ebay and all it was was mesh wire, formed. Does the Stillen come with the mesh and outer plastic to replace the grill?

Does anyone have any pics of the grill off of the car, out of the box???

thanks

You got the Stillen StreetScene main grille. Yes, all it is a formed wire mesh and you have to cut out your stock grille from the frame and insert the Stillen grille. I didn't want to cut my stock grille out so I returned mine and only kept the lower valences.

You didn't get ripped off.....

Actual you may have gotten ripped off. When you said you got if off Ebay when vendor directly popped into my head. I've search a couple of times on Ebay for grills and there is one particular vendor who has an Ebay store that sells what he calls a new "Stillen Grill" with a Buy It Now of like $35. Rule of thumb with Ebay: if its too good to be true it probably isn't true! If you bought it from this guys its a fake. Cheapest retail I've seen for the real thing is $109.

I think we have a winner. Little history...saw the grill, "Stillen Chrome upper grill for G35", opening bid of $35. I was the only bidder and got it.
THREE weeks later (and after many strongly worded emails) I get it, poor communication and all. It was shipped in a old, ratty, used CAI box, no packaging, and warped, really rough edges.
I thought I had been had, but I posted here and looked on Stillen.com and saw that the grill goes into the stock grill frame, just mods are necessary. So I thought maybe the shipping just sucked.
Also, the grill is not Chrome, it is ordinary aluminum.
Thanks for the help. Negative feedback and a refund are an order.

PS any pics of a "real" Stillen grill would be appreciated.

Stillen or Homemade?

that is all I needed to see....Look at what I got from IPDG (Import Performance Development Group) a subsidary of "the350forums"

Is this a Stillen? It looks better than when I received it, I had to reshape it. Very rough edges, and no idea how to mount this thing to the stock grill.

Stillen or homemade?

If this guy continues not to respond to your emails or tries to deny a refund, I'm sure the people over at Stillen would be very interested to know someone is selling fake replicas and advertising them as the real thing ..... Did I just read that last post wrong or did you say the questionable fake was sold to you buy the company that owns 350zforums.org store? Because they offer the basic stillen grill for $119 on their website.

Yeah, it is the 350zforums.org store. They just started an ebay operation, and all I have gotten was this unwrapped grill tossed in a box, sh//ty service, bad communication, LATE shipping, bad tracking number, etc etc.

Should have stayed away when I saw "0" feedback rating.

PS that mesh you see above is the "Stillen valence bumper mesh inserts!" Flimsy!

Wow this doesn't make sense to me at all! I've been very pleased thus far with 350zforums and certainly wouldn't expect this. Maybe its just an open box Stillen Grill or something, but like I said the cheapest price I've seen for the upper valance is $109 in silver and that was with Everythingg35. As stated above, 350zforums lists it as $119 on their site:

http://www.350zforums.org/store/?pag...6e4492afba82f8

Honestly I don't know what to tell you on this one! I've never seen this particular grill in person and the Stillen site only provides the picture that 350 forums is already using. I did have a Street Scene Grill on my previous vehicle and it looked just like that, although don't use this as a rule of thumb because other companies (like APC) make similar looking "universal" grills. My best guess is that this was eithier an open box/display grill or maybe its used.

IPDG ebay store and 350zforums.org on here are 2 different operations. I'd appreciate if we kept our name out of that. You purchased stock that was clearanced out and marked down to be removed. We sold genuine stillen that had been a wall display but never installed.

Any problems have not been communicated anywhere to IPDG as noted.

I apologize for any name mistakes. The ebay showed both entities in conjunction however.

Before I make a claim against anyone, I need to make sure that I had been wronged, and with the amount of people on this site that have real Stillen grills I would be a fool not to ask their advice.

Thanks

csukoh,

your pictures of the grille you received looks very much like the anondized silver Stillen grille. I ordered the Carbon nickel grille and it had the same wire pattern and folded edges.. The pictures would seem like you got the stillen grille. I too was surprisingly dissapointed how simple and cheap the grille appeared in real life when I received it and that was one of the reasons why I returned it back to Stillen for a refund along with having to cut the stock grille frame..

I do know that there were some online vendors who were trying to clear out their inventory of the StreetScene (aka Stillen) lower valances and main grilles at discounted prices. If you got yours off Ebay for $35, that's better than the ~$100+ price from other vendors. I know $35=$35 but I still think you did get a legit Stillen grille.
