I'm sure if I went darker, it'd reject more heat, but I just didnt want to be a problem at night.. with 35%, its no problem at all.. my friend went 35% all the way around except for 20% on the rear window and the difference isnt that noticable (vision wise, not sure about heat rejection)
Metallic content is what matters
I've tinted several cars... I have 35% right now, but it has a high metallic content. The metallic content has many benefits:
1. it REFLECTS light, so it doesn't heat up your car
2. it looks great
3. it does NOT distort color at all
Dark (dyed) tint tends to look purple or dull... that's the cheap stuff. Pay $200+ for the car and get REAL tint with metallic content (can be a blend of metallic & dye to save costs and not have mirrors for windows!)

Old car - I30 with light interior, 20% sides and rear
G35x - graphite interior, 35% sides, 20% rear
During the day, you can easily see through the sides, it doesn't look dark at all, am disappointed. The tint definately blocks the suns rays. If you don't want to get pulled over get the 35%, and get it darker in the rear. However, Id personally recommend 20% all around. Dark tint on a black car =

I called a local shop and they recommended Sunguard High Performace series in 35/20%.
They said the HP series was a dyed film that would not fade and was a better choice than the metallic stuff due to the radio antenna in the window.
Anyone tried it?
