Jaguar Type R Grill?

Someone needs to make a Jaguar R type mesh grill for our cars. I think a black chrome version of that grill, with an infiniti symbol in the middle, would look HOT on my car!

Anyone else feelin this idea?

That's the type of mesh I've been looking for to fill in my UT GTR Grill and the inserts to my Nismo Bumper... but I've have "0" luck... I've even trying begging a Cadillac dealer to sell me the mesh from the CTS-V with no avail!

That would be KILLA!!! I would assume a body shop would be able to get the mesh (cost, I assume, = ARM+LEG+FIRST BORN) but that would look sick! You just gave me a great idea!!! Thanks! LOL

haha..you're welcome! If you make it happen, fill us in. I've been thinking about this ever since my parents bought a S-type R last summer. I love that grill style!

Hi guys, What you should be looking for is called "wire cloth". I also have the UT grille and the mesh that they included is less than crap. The wire cloth is available in stainless steel and should be speced as "intercrimped" to keep it from losing it's square orientation. Ask for intercrimped wire cloth, #2, stainless steel, 16 gauge wire. The wire cloth will need to be turned 45 degrees and then trimmed before securing it to the grille opening. Most distributors of wire cloth have minimums to ship so this can be expensive but, it's your baby.

Where could I get this wire cloth at? Do you know of a place?

BTW, nice first post! Very informative. Look forward to hearing more. Thanks!

I'm on the East Coast in and work for and architect so we get a lot of catalogs from metal suppliers. I have a catalog from McNichols co. (www.mcnichols.com) but you can also Google the words "wire cloth" to get a larger list. Like I said in the previous post, most suppliers have minimum orders ($$) so it will be in your interest to get some local friends together to make the order.

Did anyone actually go through with something like this on their car yet?

I'm still looking to see what my options are for this setup...

I think that's right...
He just made one for the QX56...the grill is the Bentley style grill.
Looks hot.
Maybe we can get him to do something for the Gs.
I want one for my M.

I take it you are talking about this grill....With a black border, it would look incredible on my coupe. I may infact contact him about making something for us. Looks like the upper grill portion is only $149! Incredible price if the quality is up to par. In any case, I'll give them a call...

Damn keep me posted on that too, I'd be interested (although my car is white so I'd prefer a white or chrome border)
