Ings front molded on Black

This is a replica lip purchased from 350ZForums. I first planned on just painting it only but I had to mold it instead because the fitment was horrible. I'm glad I did though because it comes out looking OEM...and was still cheaper than buying the real thing and having it painted.

So, do you mind to tell how much TOTAL you spend? I just like to run a brief analysis vs. the authentic one

if I were to purchase real Ings...
~650 (less shipping and wait time from JPN) + ~250 for paint/install = ~900

Total spent = ~250 for replica lip (less shipping) + 550 for painting/mold/install = 800

stock/clean look --> priceless

I really don't like the Ings rear, still shopping around. My body guy said it shouldn't crack. He used the "strong bondo" so he says. I've already scratched the bottom and put stress on it already in dips and driveways, so far no cracking.

I know what you mean. My Ken-style bumper scraps all the time, I try to take driveways at an angle and go as slow as possible. Sometimes you just can't help it. The bodyshop told me that the fiberglass will crack really ease, but so far no cracks.

I don't think the fiberglass will hold well when molded to the oem front bumper. Many bodyshops will actually refuse to try to mold an oem plastic or urethane bumper with a fiberglass piece. If it does crack, it may end up causing damage to your oem bumper.

http://www.ingsusa.com/lxsportv35.shtml

The ings front is $520 in fiberglass and $620 in hybrid aero. (This includes shipping from Japan.) Not to mention, those are retail prices...most of our ings dealers sell them for $494 and $589.... Domestic shipping isn't a variable here since you would pay domestic shipping on the fake ings front as well.

$520 for the fiberglass plus your $250 to paint and install gives you $770 total...cheaper than going with the fake one.....

Anyways, going with your numbers, I personally don't think modifying a horrible fitting knockoff that's constructed of cheaper material is worth saving $100 over. The ings fiberglass and hybrid aero pieces are much more flexible and resistant to damage than the knockoffs. They also fit right so there is no need for modifying them or molding them.

My body shop guy did say that it is prone to crack with fiberglass on urethane but it's a risk I took. I actually got quotes back in Dec from 2 places that sells the Ings front [real] with hybrid aero and they gave me prices in the >$600 range (less domestic shipping). The main thing is I'm glad I molded the lip on in the end. I'm not into wild body kits.

Well, the retail is clearly $535 on the distributor's website:

www.ingsusa.com

It's nice that you're happy but please don't tell people that is the ings+1 piece. Posing fake parts as the authentic pieces hurt the reputation of the authentic pieces.
