Aerokits|Speed Bumps
I'm ordering my G35 coupe this weekend and I'm planning on getting the aero kit. However, I have a few questions and would appreciate if anyone could help me with it.
1. I've heard from the dealer that the G35 is already as low as it is. The question is, will I be able to clear the average speedbumps(stock ride height) on the road with an aero kit?
2. what is the difference between getting the
A. Aero Package (Rear Spoiler, Rear Side Air diffusers)+ Aerodynamic body kit w/o spoiler ( front bumper chin spoiler, aero body splash guards)
B. Aerodynamic body kit with spoiler( Accessory Rear Spoiler, 2 underbody diffusers, 2 under covers, front bumper chin spoiler, aero body splash guards)
Are the underbody diffusers mentioned in 2 the same as the rear side air diffusers in 1 ?
3. I'm interested in the kenstyle aerokit, the sideskirt seems awfully low to me, does anyone have problems clearing speed bumps with it(stock ride height) ? and with the installation of the kenstyle body kit, would the stock underbody diffusers/ undercovers have to be removed?

You'll be fine clearing speedbumps with any of the combination of kits you listed. You will only need to be careful at dips and driveways. All the underbody parts should stay even when switching kits- there are holes pre-drilled for you. Get the real deal!

so If I plan to get the kenstyle body kit, should i even consider getting any of the OEM aerokits at all?
and if I'm not getting the kenstyle, would the aeropackage + aerodynamics body kit w/o rear spoiler or aerodynamics body kit with spoiler be a better choice?

Cloud, I got the exterior of my car stipped - nothing special...17's, no spoiler, no splashguards, nothing because I knew as soon as I drove it off the lot I was heading over to the shop to put all my stuff on [not literally - but within a short period of time]. So the outside was boring, but I got the interior fully loaded! If you are for sure getting the Kenstyle - you shouldnt get the aero package.
Remember, the stock kit and the aftermarket Kenstyle are VERY different. The Kenstyle has some of the most aggressive lines thus far and if you are a more subtle person you should stick with the factory kit and do another things like rims and drop to make it look more agressive. Perhaps even look into an aftermarket lip kit like the INGs that are alittle more daring than the stock yet still refined and switch up the side skirts or rear to fit you and your style.
As for what combination of factory kit.......? I dunno, haha.

I guess I'll get the aero package only and not the kit since i want the spoiler, and maybe the splash guards along with the kenstyle.

Stock sideskirts with no mud gaurds has a clearance of aprox 6.25 inch clearance right behind the front wheels, and the thickness of the sideskirts are also aprox 6.25 inches. This is the area that would be most prone to hitting speed bumps. Kenstyle sideskirts are aprox 7.25 inches thick at the same spot, leaving a clearance of 5.25 with stock springs. The average speed bump is aprox 3.25-3.5 inches high, so you cah still lower your car about 1.25 and still be okay, but you'll have to go over speed bumps a little slower, or angle it if you want to go through it quickly.
Just to add..
Front bumper/lip get damaged by dips and driveways
Sideskirts get damaged by speedbumps
Remember, once the front tires go over the speed bumps, the car dips down a little and bounces. Thats where the sideskirts can touch if its too low.
The Kenstyle replaces the OEM front and rear bumper, and both sideskirts. The OEM mudgaurds will only fit on the OEM bumper and sideskirts. Also, the OEM sideskirts with mudgaurds bring it about as low as the Kenstyle sideskirts.

To answer your original question..
Yes, the front chin spoiler doesn't make it any lower, I guess it's just an illusion it creates.
A) comes without a 3rd brake light inside the rear window besides the one on the spoiler <-- preferred
B) will have a 3rd brake light inside the car because the spoiler is port installed..
Underbody diffusers and everything else is the same. But if you want to be original, go with the Kenstyle, just be advised that some pearl colors are incredibly hard to color match and I've seen some shotty bodykit paint jobs. What color are you getting?

My primary choice would be Diamond graphite or Athens Blue. I haven't really seen the athens blue in person and from the pictures i've seen, it appears to look quite bright however, in some other pics it looks dull and faded. Any explanation ?
looks duller pic 1
looks duller pic 2
Alot brighter and better(Is this even athens blue?)

Ah I see, then Diamond graphite it is I guess.
By the way, do the kenstyle aerokits require drilling for installation? They're not prepainted are they?
How much approximately would painting it cost if its required?
