the whole point of personlizing your G is to do what ever "YOU" think is cool but to help you out

Tuner 2 Racing Wheels from Konig are awsome on a G in 20s on a black G

Remember that if you go 20s, that you'll have to use 30 series tires in the back. If you have bad streets in your area, you might want to reconsider.

20s will make the ride horrible! Rob HP too! I know people like the look of bigger wheels, but I wouldn’t go bigger than 18 (19 top)... personally I'm keeping my stock and powder coating, I actually like the way they look and figure it's about the most unique thing to be done since everyone else puts after-market on. I'm more in to performance upgrades anyway.

Just my 2 cents - for what it's worth

Speaking of powdercoating, how much would that cost? And how much would it cost to get a metalic paint on them? Any suggestions?

I love the 05 19" Rims, theyre soooo tight, i would just really like a metalic black or gunmetal instead of the stock grey color.

Just found out that it IS possible to fit 35 series tires all around with 20s. So far, I've only seen two cars do this, but they didnt lower their cars. The gap looks like it was lowered, but the overall hieght of the car looked slightly higher than stock. I might actually do this, and since I have a bodykit, it would bring down the body slightly lower to even out.

That's a loaded question! Trust me, I've been looking into it for the past week... There are several threads out here - what I've come up with based on the great responses in other posts and calling about 10 local shops and visiting 2 is:

1) powder coating is recommended by most people I've spoken with - with good clear-coat it it's much harder and more durable than paint.

2) powder coating is cheaper than painting - the quotes I've been given for powder coating one color only is $45-$60 per wheel, it can be as high as $75 if you want polished lip or two or more color powder coat (this is based on about 8 different quotes). Painting apparently (for whatever reason) is more, $100-$115 per wheel (I only got two quotes). There are metallic color powder coats that you will probably be happy with. I’m going for a similar look that you described.

3) some powder coaters sand blast, some chemically treat the wheel to strip existing finish to prep for their work. From what I've been told, one process isn’t necessarily better than another. The majority of the shops I spoke to sandblast, but the one I'm probably going with chemically strips.

4) It is almost impossible to find a shop that will remove, prep, spray balance and re-mount. With almost all shops you have to bring the rim with tire off. The only shop I found that does it all charges $150 per wheel (powder coating) they also repair any damage.

5) the majority of shops take 1-2 weeks! Only two that I found are a one day turn-around.

Since I have no damage I have decided to have a local tire shop remove, re-mount and balance - and take the rims only to powder coater.
Removal and remount w/balance is $30 per wheel. Powder coating $45 per = $300 total (one day turn-around). I may end up polishing the lip and/or going darker color on inside edges which will cost more and apparently is a pain in a@@... we'll see.

BTW, the shop I'm going to is spraying all chrome door trim and handles a black-chrome color. I've been wanting to do this since I got the car (I hate chrome!) but haven’t found anyone till now. But as with wheels, I have to remove all trim and take to him - can't wait!

I know its a long post, but hope it helps... this is a great medium for obtaining info - I've learned a lot out here and want to share what I've found as well. Hope it helps.
