Are the 03, 04 and 05 HID bulbs different?
Hey Guys,
I was cruising on the highway and saw an 04 coupe coming up behind me and noiticed his headlights seemer "bluer" than mine...i also noticed this in my friends 03 coupe when we were parked side by side...
so i was wondering if the factory bulbs have changed from 03 04 and 05?
on a secondary note, i wanted to know what are the brightest bulbs i can replace my HIDs with that dont require any additional wiring or anyting, just plug and play....i like that bluish tint since the car stands out more as well
thanks in advance...
p.s. i did a search but there is info overload....so i just want the straight deal

Over time the bulbs can take on different hughs of colors and such. Burning at their temps takes a toll! Have you ever noticed when you 1st turn the car on [in a darkened area, ie garage] and the light shines on the wall and it starts out blue, the may go purple and then to a whiter purple? Kinda the same deal.
The coupe you saw on the road may also have switched out his bulbs - it takes about 5min.
13,000K bulbs will be really purple but not put out as much light as our 4300K [?] bulbs. I think in the 6's or 8's is the bluish color you want but someone else will have to correct me probably.

Thanks Homieg35
yeah i noticed the color change when the bulbs turn on, my friends coupe had factory bulbs and the car i saw on the road was driven by man in his 50's so i figured he would have kept it pretty stock (just an assumption)
i think 6k is a good temp but do i need to change anything else besides the bulb if im going that high?

nope.. you don't need to change anything at all.. i did it myself just last week.. very easy IMO.. i love the color and won't go back.. you do lose a little light spectrum, but not much.. either way, the difference in color is well worth it, to me at least.. look for my thread "6000K Bulbs Installed" (sorry, too lazy to find the link lol)
