Red face Don't get caught!

I am VERY surprised that you found a tint shop to do that. Don't drive that thing to Texas, the DPS will bust you quick! NO tinting is allowed on the front windshield. I wouldn't be surprised if that is the same in all 50.

If you have 30% all the way around, the "fuzz" won't notice.

If you darker on the sides and back, it will make the tinted windshield stand out.

This is from experience.

Additionally, tinting the windshield does amazing things for keeping heat out of the car.

I have 15% on the sides and 5% in the rear. When I see a cop I just open the sunroof to let light in and you can't evan notice... It's only 30% on the front.

30% front. How the hell you guys drive at night. I have 50 on the front and its hard to see.

IMHO 30 is to much. 50 is pushing it.

But regardless it keeps all the heat out.

I have 15% on the rear, 35% on the sides, and 50% on the front windshield here in cali. I had the same setup on my IS. It's very nice. My eyes are sensitive to the light, but I have great night vision, no problems.

Having tint on the windshield is helpful for solar heat reduction as well as getting the UV protection from taking those summer drives. I personally have 50% on the windshield of all my cars for that reason. Reduces glare for night driving, heat reduction and UV protection for the day, and looks light enough to keep the cops off my tail.

Do any of you guys have a problem with the limo tint being mirrorish? I had 5 % installed all around, and 30 % in the front. When I drive around in daylight, the tint gives off a slight mirror tint look, and doesn't look all solid black as I would want to. I asked the tint shop, and they told me infiniti staines their windows from the factory, and I can't do anything about it. But in the pic above, your tint looks solid black. Do you know the brand by any chance?

I had 35% on my old cars front windshield... I notice that during cloudy days it's very easy to see that you have the front tinted... That's how I got pulled over one day...

Don't use a metallized limo tint. To achieve a nice flat black, you need to use plain old "dyed" limo film.

XXXMidget - What the hell is your problem? He is a retard because he tinted his windshield? Have you ever been in a car with a tinted windshield? Its not bad at all, and visibility is still more than sufficient. Actually, I have a harder time looking out my side windows, than the windshield. And if you knew that it actually has purposes, like stated above (ie: better protection of dash, less heat, etc) You would keep your mouth shut.

You know what the sad thing is. You probably don't even own a G35, and if you do, that just makes me realize that class doesn't come in a classy car. What a nerd....

Nick

OK, so he's no diplomat (dipstick maybe), but, his point is not lost on me. Here in Texas (as in most states I would suspect) it is "flat out" illegal to tint your windshield. I know I have wished I had mine tinted on summer days when it gets up to 105 out here, but I can't. You might think you can see "just fine" with your tinted windshield, but you have reduced the light transmission to just (in some cases) 35% of available light. That could make the difference (here at least) of seeing that big hog coming out of the corn field or not. (a lot of wild hogs are solid black) Or worse some little kid wearing a dark shirt and pants that runs out from behind a car. I can take a little heat to get all the vision I can at night.
