To all Caribbean Blue Owners

I need help from the people that own a CB coupe that have painted a kit or repainted there car. There is an issue with our paint not matching from Dupont and Spies Hecker. When I painted my kit, when they mixed the paint from Dupont it came out 5 shades off the actual color of the car. We mixed it twice with the same results. Note that we actually painted my whole kit, thats how we know how terribly off it is. Spies Hecker won't even mix the Color because under there color gun it states that there is no such color. Well long story short after they called spies hecker, they can't mix the Caribbean Blue color. So I was forced at the end to modify the Dupont paint 5 shades lighter to match up the car. It came out pretty dam good, but for future reference and use I would like to know what you other people did. Note that the color chip from dupont also itself was about 5 shades darker than the car. Thanks

I had to get the new paint from my body kit blended into the fenders for it not to look off. Front bumper and sides didn't matter due to all the angles/curves, but the rear bumper into the quarter panels was the only one causing problems. It's just a huge amount of flat real estate where the rear bumper meets the quarter panels that even a 95% paint match would have been noticeable under certain lighting conditions.

I had my drivers door repainted after getting vandilized and after several attempts to match the paint it still came out a shade lighter which can only be noticed when standing about 15 ft away bright sunlight

CB is a PITA to match, that's for sure. My rear bumper was repainted and the depth of color and sparkles matched very well. However, in SoCal sunlight, you can tell the hue on the secondary color looks alittle more green than the quarter panel. Oh well, that's the price for getting a crazy paint job like CB.

I had my door and fender repainted due to an accident in a parking lot... I don't know what my bodyshop used but the paint matches perfectly... I'll ask them when I go back to states. Currently spending my summer break in Korea
