custom making a steering column gauge mount
HAs onyone tried this? I used to have a 93 Rx-7 and I bought a steering column mount for a boost gauge from Pettit racing.
If you are unfamilar with this concept...it would neatly integrate a single gauge into the top of the steering column. It would be a tight fit, but I am good with fiberglass.
If anyone has tried this before, I'd love to see their pics.
Some company makes a dual gauge mount with each gauge on the outside edges if the top of the steering column. I think that design would block too much of the speedo and tach.
Having a single gauge in the middle would only block the 7000-8000 rpm range and the 0-20 mph range (this is on an '05 dash layout.)
EDIT:
here's a pic of the RX-7 one.
If anyone has any other idea of where to make a custom gauge mount, I'm all ears. BTW, this is in a sedan. A pillar mount is my last option.(even that would have to be custom
for the sedan)
