My head is spinning from all the threads I read on lights (and WAY to many on coupes with the clearence strip!) not to mention the 2005 SEDAN has a new headlight assembly from what I have seen in most of these posts.

So I want to replace the fog bulbs with something that will closely match the HID color/hue. I have read that these are 9003/H4 halogen bulbs, and that they are both fog lights AND high beams (from the same bulb.)

Also, I will be putting in OEM JDM clear corners and want clear bulbs that throw yellow light (not yellow bulbs that look ugly under the lens). I believe these are 194 bulbs and I think the JDM corners come with these.

*** Can someone verify that all of the above is correct***

Now, can anyone who has installed replacement fog/highbeam bulbs make recommendations as to brand/model #s that they have seen and think are the best match for the HIDs?

Finally, if the bulb that comes with the JDM clear corners is yellow (not clear) when off, can anyone recommend a bulb for the corners that is clear but throws yellow light?

I too have wondered the same thing and come up with some choices (not sure what to get yet).

Our HID's are ~4300K or so the following seem to be decent choices:

mtec white (4350K)
PIAA xtreme white (NOT plus - 4300K)
JDM Crystal Vision (4300K)

I have heard that JDM / Philips bulbs last longer than the mtec and PIAA but they all should be pretty close matches.

In terms of the blubs for the JDM clears, I suggest you keep the bulbs that you currently have in place. The JDM clears come with an orange bulb, whereas your stock ones are clear but emit a yellow light.

 

Yeah - I saw that - that's an LED, right?

My VW has clear side markers with clear bulbs that shine yellow. That is what I am looking for.

 

Clear bulbs that shine yellow? Neat trick - let me know what you find. What I have is a 5-led cluster from autoillumination.com. I'd perfer the more even illumination from the clear bulb though...
