yea i wanted to do somthing similar to your idea (so far anyway) but i was just worried about that lip you would see imbetween the cf and paint. I think you will be able to see a lip threw the clear too, but im not 100% on that.

With paint that's properly laid down, and then clear coated, you really should never end up with any sort of "lip" between the two surfaces. It should be a smooth transition when you place and run your finger above it. A very slight, and I mean very very slight difference sometimes can happen, depending on how many coats of paint was applied vs how many coats of clear. A good painter will always make sure he balances it out, but with some paints (two, three, even four step "process" paints like pearls and such) it can be thicker than normal, so it takes a little extra effort to keep the transition edge clean and as smooth as possible...
And Coupin as for that "debt" I'll just add it to your tab and cash in on it one day... LOL
