Angry Front Bumper Issue

Hey everyone! I just bought an 2005 6MT Coupe from So Cal on 9/25. I actually live in Nor Cal, but went down there because my friend referred me over there saying they had excellent customer service.

I signed the disclosure stating that I don't want the front plate put on... but it was already installed because they did a dealer trade. When I got it back to Nor Cal I removed the plate and there was substatial damage to the front bumper. Not only was the paint cracking and peeling off because the installer tightened the screws too much... but the holes were drilled in so sloppy that even if I wanted to put in the bumper plugs, I wouldn't be able to fit them in. Also there are cuts into the paint where the bracket was installed too tight.

I have called the dealer and he claims that I have to drive all the way back to So Cal to get it repaired. Now I think that's ridiculous! Especially if it's not my fault! I've been told that Infiniti is supposed to have excellent customer service, but I'm definitely not seeing that right now. Has anyone else ran into issues like this? Other stories that I have read didn't seem to have any problems dealing with the repairs... but for some reason I'm having a lot of issues.

Can someone please give me some advice and insight on this issue!!! Thanks in advance for all the help!

although i understand your frustration and disappointment, you need to return to the dealer so they can help you. what do you expect? did you expect that they just send you a new front bumper without even looking at the damage? you have to realize that each infiniti dealer is individually owned. therefore, you need to return to the dealer that you purchased the car from. where you live is really irrelevent to the dealer. note, this is exactly the reason why most ppl purchase locally in case something like this were to occur. my only suggestion to you is drive down to so-cal (it's only a 5 hour drive!!!) for a little vacation/trip and get the car looked at.

honestly, if the front plate bothered you that much, you shouldn't have taken possession of the car and had them take care of it at that time. i can't imagine that you couldn't find a good price for the coupe at the 5-10 infiniti dealers in norcal.

Agreed..look at it from the point of view of the dealer...they have to make sure the bumper damage is as you state. It may be hard to get another dealer locally to suck up costs because this incident is more of a dealership issue than an Infiniti issue. You can try to get corporate infiniti involved with a couple of calls but I'm guessing they will tellyou what was said above (the family owned thing).
Really should've not accepted delivery when you sawthe front bumper had a license plate. I think all things considered, this dealer is being more than fair..
