Just got my Phillips 6000k But~!! (help)

i just got my phillips 6000k bulbs But i noticed that on one of the bulbs, the ceramic tube covering the wire parallel to the bulb is cracked on the end that gets plugged in. Its slides back and forth if i tilt the bulb. is that something i can fix ?? or can i just use it the way it is ?? or do i have to return it??

my main concern is if that piece moves the way i just described, will it shorten the life of the bulb??

any help would be nice

thanks

pic attached w/ broke area circled in red

If you can't take them back (which) you should, then you can use a high temp cerm. glue.

That piece does two things, Prevents shorting, and prevents the wire getting too hot.

Maybe two years ago, i cracked that ceramic piece in my 6k bulb when i was removing it from my TL and putting it in my G. The bulb is exactly how you describe yours and it still works fine. No problems so far. If you can still get it replaced, then do so, but if you cant, i dont think it matters

There is a one year warranty on all Philips Ultinons... get it replaced if from a vendor if you purchased them from one.
