HELP! Got Puller Over....
HELP! Got Puller Over....
OK, so I live in LA and have a 35% tint on my G. This dick highway patrol guy pulls me over, and just my luck, hes having a really bad day. Not only did he write me up for the tint on the front windows, he gave me a fix it for the rear tint where the small brake light is on the rear windshield! Man, I was so pissed! I know this is a long shot, but does anyone know how I can get these fix its written off without taking off my tint and avoiding to redo them? thanks for any help!
sidenote: as soon as i pulled away back on the road, the cop immediately pulls over the car driving passed us, and guess what for? tinted windows...whata joke.

go to an optomotrist and see if you can get a permit for it tell them you have sensetive eyes but iniowa you can just pay the fine and go about your buisiness and you cant get one more than once a month that goes for any fix it ticket
that is some pretty fcuked up ****. i've had worst luck. i parked my car across the street from my house and on a SUNDAY a DPT comes by and give me a ticket for having a black tint cover on my rear license plate. i know i'm not suppose to have it but no one really even cares and the funniest thing is that when he filled out the ticket, he didn't know what the make of the car was because it's all debagded and nothing outside the car says infiniti on it so he put (MISC.) can i argue about that cuz the ticket is $50 and i can spend $50 on something else better.

you said dark tint? mines is 35% which is fairly light. so do you mean dark tint or tint at all for medical reasons? your bro, for the license plate thing, that really sucks, youd be risking it fighting that ticket even though there is a possibility you could get away with it. anyone know the tint rule in california?

I don't mean to sound like a *****, it's just that everybody get's so pissed when they get caught do'in something that carries a fine with it.....like it only applies to eveybody else. Good luck with it.

are u saying that im bashing law enforcement? obvioulsy tint on front windows are illegal, im not b!tching about that. the whole point of this thread was to find out if theres a way i can get out of the ticket, not to bash law enforcement. besides, the guy was a dick, he can enforce the law, he doesnt have to be an *** while he does it though...

26708.
(10) Sun screening devices meeting the requirements of Section
26708.2 installed on the side windows on either side of the vehicle's
front seat, if the driver or a passenger in the front seat has in
his or her possession a letter or other document signed by a licensed
physician and surgeon certifying that the person must be shaded from
the sun due to a medical condition, or has in his or her possession
a letter or other document signed by a licensed optometrist
certifying that the person must be shaded from the sun due to a
visual condition. The devices authorized by this paragraph shall not
be used during darkness.

subdivision (b) of Section 26708 shall meet the following
requirements:
(a) The devices shall be held in place by means allowing ready
removal from the window area, such as a frame, a rigid material with
temporary fasteners, or a flexible roller shade.
(b) Devices utilizing transparent material shall be green, gray,
or a neutral smoke in color and shall have a luminous transmittance

(c) Devices utilizing nontransparent louvers or other alternating

no individual louver or opaque section shall have a projected
vertical dimension exceeding 3/16 inch.
(d) The devices shall not have a reflective quality exceeding 35
percent on either the inner or outer surface.
Dude, you are missing the key parts of that section -
"The devices authorized by this paragraph shall not be used during darkness."
and
"(a) The devices shall be held in place by means allowing ready
removal from the window area, such as a frame, a rigid material with
temporary fasteners, or a flexible roller shade."
Window tint is not readily removable. And mine is still on the windows when it is dark. So no help from this code section.

I know and you know by reading this, but tinted windows is allowed by you saying you can roll down your window. Come, think like Lawyers!Oh, and of course, you do need that letter and don't get caught during the night (which I hardly ever see any getting caught at night for tinted windows). Think outside the box.
