hidretro.com quoted me $900 for parts and labor...

-TSX Projector for low beam
-Flat Black Painted housing
-Orange LED strip wired to blink as signal
-Washer and shield mod on projector
-Bezels and shrouds included

He's actually professional. He quoted me $900 for parts AND labor. I guess i WILL shop around..

But regardless, you did a nice job.

looks nice, but a but pricey on labor.

LCA575 would do this for a grand total of $896
dual (4 single like tony's)projector retrofitted?- We can get 90mm Hella Units for $249 a set and set them up as just Xenon or Bi-Halogen for the hi or low beam positions for a $199 retrofit fee. So if you wanted hi and low beams it would be $498 for the projectors and $398 for the labor.

maybe there not bi-xenons but there still projectors. + his labor fee is only 400

It is a mod where you bend the shield inside the projector, and add washers to separate the lens from the reflector bowl, this all cause the cutoff to become much sharper and gives much more color. It looks amazing if done right.

$800 for labor is not expensive at all. Projector retroing is very labor intensive. My only concern would be the fact that you don't mount the headlights yourself?! How the heck do you aim them then? I know it took me SEVERAL test mounts to get the lights aimed right (Horizontal/Vertical).

Regardless, nice job.

Good work on the retrofit. Looks very clean.

Looks like you have a bixenon E46 on the bottom. How did you do the wiring to allow the solenoid shield to activate while the bulb is still on?

I'm essentially working on my 4th and 5th retrofit now for the G35 (not doing for new customers, one's for myself again, and one's for someone that crashed his car with retrofitted lights).

The price of a retrofit can definitely vary depending on how meticulous you want to be. And high end projectors aren't cheap.

I know PeteNJ spent alot of time on his retrofit. I stopped doing commercial retrofits because it was just too time consuming, and it was too much stress trying to perfect everything on someone else's car. Your work needs to be flawless when it comes to dealing with other car enthusiasts' stuff. It was easier for me to just work overtime with my day job for 4 extra hours to make that kind of money.

I'm already 3 months into my "ultimate" retrofit, and I'm still waiting on parts. I spent 1 month just perfecting custom shields for the TSX projectors. I'm waiting on clear lenses to arrive for my TL bixenons. I'll have to wire everything up correctly to retain both the fog and high beam from those.

Good luck on your business endeavor. As someone who's been there, I can say that it's not all that easy. If you're in Socal, I'd love to check out your work sometime.

BTW, what shrouds are you using on the low beams? Haven't seen those before...
