Removing sticker shadow/residue from bumper?

Hey guys,

I just bought a used front bumper and the front has an outline type shadow effect of the sticker wording that came off it. Anyone have experience with removing this?

I tried waxing over it but it's still there. Any input appreciated!

to remove the adhesive residue products like goof off and goo gone work well. You can find this at WalMart and places as such.

What kind of sticker did you have on the front bumper?

^+1 I used goo-off when I debadged my car and had to take the glue they had holding the lettering on. I then used a light scratch remover, followed by a good polish to remove a tiny bit of marring.

It's not my bumper but it had a Toyo Tires sticker on. When the sticker came off, it apparantley tinted the bumper with an outline of the wording. I think I have some goo gone so I will try that. I don't feel anything when I touch the bumper so I don't know exactly what it is.

Ah. If you don't feel anything I don't believe that goof off is going to do anything for you as it would only take away the glue residue. It sounds like you have some paint fading which you may be able to get rid of or at least make less noticeable with some polish and buffing.

If you are the type of person who wants to do this yourself visit http://autopia.org/ for some good information about paint cleaning and detailing.

Just went back to stock as I sold mine before I put my Nismo on. Taking off the Nismo now because I'm done with fiberglass bumpers Going to throw on a lip kit and be done with the body.

twitch, I will look into it. Might just take it to a nearby detail shop and see if they can remove it.
