I have an 05 coupe with and OEM spoiler that was installed at the dealer, I also have a third brake light inside the car. I noticed that when I brake, all four brake lights came up at the same time, the third brake light, the spoiler light, the two standard brake lights. Is this normal? It seems a bit excessive to me to have that many lights come on when I brake, although I must admit that it definitely would bring attention to the guy behind me.

 

I had my spoiler installed at the dealer installed as well and they left the 3rd brake light on my car, I didn't even notice until way after that I had 4 brake lights in total turning on... looks like a huge stop sign.

Anyway.. I just removed it and typically its easy to remove, there's only one plug on the light that comes off but there are like 3 holes under it... I just used a Patriots cap to cover it.

 

Yea, you are only required to have three (left, right, center). I'd remove the one inside.

 

In VA you would fail the safety inspection. You are only allowed to have either spoiler light or deck lid light.

I duno. I'm kinda split on the decision.. On one hand, I would have way too many lights every time I brake, on the other hand I surely would get the attention of the guy behind me and won't be rear-ended.

So the question would be, which would look better? with or with out the inside brake light?
