Using the same logic.......wouldn't the hood be susceptible to sagging in the middle when you use the hood support just on the front edge?

Think about a 4'x4' piece of cardboard. If you set one end on the ground and prop the other end up on a chair it will retain its form with some integrity.
If you then lift the same piece of cardboard in to the air but only support it down by the ground the cardboard will have no structual integrity at all.
I guarantee that these props put more stress on the hood then the hood prop, but that doesn't mean its going to cause any damage. The hood is designed to be repeatedly slammed, so it obviously has some rigidness to it.
My whole thing about the way people are installing these is that they are putting them in backwards, and that for maximum support you need to support the hood further away from the pivot point. I've never tried to install these on my car, but I am assuming there is something that prevents people from installing them the other way.

not arguing your point...u make a absolutely great point....BUT the thing is you are not using the right scale rating...you know what i mean??? also the hood isnt that heavy i believe...isnt it aluminum???
also a bunch of cars for years been coming with this style hood and some still work and some dont...lol...i mean after a few years like 10 years or so you might need new ones...but they are not that expensive anyways...
