Smile How do I remove the CLEAR BRA that is on the REAR WHEEL WELL area?

A rock actually ripped it up and it looks very tacky in it's current state--I am curious how I would go about "PEELING" off the clear bra?

THanks

From what I have heard, you get it warm (sit it out in the sun, careful use of a heat gun, etc.) and then carefully get up an edge and pull INCREDIBLY slow. It should come right off.

Mine wasn't warm at all, but it was still new. I got under a corner edge and started pulling down slowly. It's pretty thick, but it does come off pretty easy with some slow pulls. Minimal adhesive residue remained, which Goo Gone took care of in a jiffy.

Some will suggest that this area will be prone to sandblasting, but I have to wonder why the front or other leading-edge or protruding curves wouldn't be subjected to the same and, therefore, be covered in the same clear 3M vinyl. I'm not debating that this area will be more prone to rockchips.

I have yet to get any chips there (2500 miles). Wish I could say the same about the NISMO front. 1000 miles and I have 3 already.

My G is IP, so the clear guard ahead of the rear wheels was pretty noticeable. Without, that curve really shines.

did it protect your body/paint? If a rock ripped it up, then i would hate to see what it would have done to your paint and body. Are you going to replace it with another one or go bare?

I usually don't notice it unless i'm washing the car. I wouldn't mind having it under the door handle and a couple of other prone areas for scratchs. But then, why not clear bra the whole damn car. lol... (I had a huge plastic lid fly onto and hit my hood and then tumble over my car on the freeway today! WTF... its from one of those storage boxes.)

They should have it as a factory install for the front (at least the lower to mid part of the bumper. Mine is tore up!

I could also go for complete-coverage on the entire car, as the way the IP is muted by the clear-guard wouldn't be so noticeable.

bumping an old thread in case anyone is thinking about doing this.

the clear bra is really easy to pull off, especially if you heat it up with a hair dryer. use goo gone, krud kutter, or bug & tar remover to get the adhesive off, then wash, clay, polish, & wax the area.

i have an '05 IP coupe and the paint was not faded underneath the clear bra

i took it off become some douche brushed up against my car last year, and fortunately the clear bra took 95% of the blow. i got all the paint off, but there were some scratches in the clear bra that were dirt magnets. anyway, i got tired of looking at it so i just peeled the thing off this afternoon. i'm undecided as to whether i will replace it.

no pix right now, but trust me, our cars look much better without that clear bra

I was pleasantly surprised to see these small clear bra area's in front of the rear wheels. At 16k, both bra's have very visibly taken many rock hits. My '04 Maxima with 66k is badly beat up in those same areas.
