Silver Carbon Fiber

Anyone know who makes that silver/grey carbon fiber parts? I have an 06 IP coupe and want to get something unique. I called seibon and they said they can get me a silver one but for $1600. I am debating whether or not to buy it but I am going to want a matching silver CF trunk lid and possibly lip kit. Anyone know who manufactures those parts?

fyi:
its a common misconception that what you see called "Silver Carbon Fiber" is not really CF.. the material is closer to fiberglass in its structural properties than it is to carbon fiber- nor should prices reflect that!!!

kevlar, on the otherhand, can come colored, interweaved with CF...

To add to Chebosto's post

The Silver CF is acutally woven fiberglass coated with a coating aluminum powder. The stuff is actually called Texilium originally developped by a company called Hexel and comes in a bunch of other colors, blue, red, grey, white etc. However they do not have the tensile strength of actual Carbon and the raw cloth is about half the price of real Carbon. But then again since the majority of the products out there like hoods, trunks, lip spoilers etc are just fiberglass products with an overlay of CF it seems like most people don't care and are going for looks anyway.

Thanks guys. Well I am actually looking for genuine CF. Some other sights that I have found said something along the lines of the material being kevlar and carbon and impregnated with silver dye? Any other info is much appreciated.

I wish APR made something for our cars. I had some of their products on my other car and it will not break at all.

Just know that carbon-kevlar hood will be really really really expensive. I've seen some carbon-kevlar hoods cost $2000+. I don't think I have seen such hood for G's. If you're just going for looks, then just get colored CF look hoods. You're not gonna save much weight with carbon-kevlar hood anyway. I simply can't justify the price unless you're a pro racer. You're not gonna see any real difference and the fiberglass hood is strong enough for everyday driving. It's not going to break unless you crash. And if you get into an accident with carbon-kevlar hood, it's not gonna withstand the damage just like fiberglass hood and you're out $2k+.

APR does not make any "real" CF products anyway... their products are fiberglass with CF overlay just like many others as far as I know.

I am looking for any manufacturer that makes a silver CF hood and trunk lid for our cars. Any other help will be appreciated.

Also, Rookie84, your wrong. APR products are genuine carbon fiber. I owned a spoiler from them for my other car and then I turned it into a shelf. Trust me, that thing is strong. I've owned a CF hood from other companies and they are in no way alike to the fiberglass hoods.

i wonder if regular black carbon fiber hood (haha - regular & CF in the same sentence)...

so, i wonder if black CF hood can be candy-painted to match the rest of the car, say, silver? but in such a way that the CF weave shows through the paint?...

I think it is possible with other colors but I have an IP and I don't think there is a way to spray a transparent white color. And if there was a way, I don't think you can do it enough to hide the black and still have the weave show through. And same thing goes for the silver...is there even such a thing as a "candy" or transparent white or silver paint?
