California Tint waiver for my front windows

I have a temporary tint waiver that if I get pulled over it will get me out of a ticket and it's good for almost 45 days. It's called a ticket!

Damn coppers got me today for tint on the front sides. It's a fix-it ticket you just have to remove the tint then get a cop to sign the back. Friend of a friend might sign it off for me so I don't have to actually remove the tint and redo it. The question is this (Cali only), how many times can you get nailed before you get an actual ticket/fine or when do you HAVE to get rid of it? Unless I have to choose between jail time or tint, I'm keeping the tint.

Glad it wasn't for speeding tho

i've gotten 4 fix it tickets for tint, all cost me just 10 bucks per ticket to fix. Another 10 bucks when you go to the courthouse to finish the process.

Go to a dermatologist and have him do a skin exam. He can then write a letter stating that you need tint to prevent your skin from getting damaged. I know it can be done and it's perfectly legal.

I've heard this before and also heard that it's not true. Has anyone done this?

I have 20% tint, but if I have to retint it will be 10%

Why do you want such a dark tint? I bet you would stay out of trouble if you went with lighter tint of at least 35% or higher. I have 35 on front sides and it perfectly does the job for me... well, unless you are going for looks, I see no reason.

yeah the 10% is darker, after having the 20% I want it just another shade darker. Either way its really dark from the outside and is obvious. I'm not trying to be sly like the cops won't notice the tint. It's just that about 1 in 10 cars I see on the road has tint on the front sides just like mine, even see some with tinted windshields. I pass cops and highway patrol all the time and never get pulled over for it. Just drove past the wrong cop at the wrong time so he got me. I don't care, like I said I'm not going without it. I do have allergies which affect my eyes sensitivity to light so much I can't drive without sunglasses on a clear, sunny day. The tint REALLY helps block out the stray light and reflections in the daytime and glare from the rearview at night. It keeps the car cooler and protects the interior from the sun. The tint makes me more comfortable and I'm not getting rid of it just because cops like to be able to see in your windows. Cali is one of only a few states that allow zero tint on the front. They need to make it reasonable.
