I am on driver side motor #2, first was if i shut my door my windows would roll up or down on their own. 2nd which was 3 weeks ago my window would play hide & seek. I would roll down my window, when i roll them up they would come up 1-2" then roll back down. Now they work fine but when I have my window all the way up and I am driving I hear air getting in. My window issues are pretty annoying to say the least.

Ok, i just tried this resetting thing about an hour ago and it works! BUT...holding the reset button while rolling it DOWN didn't work for me...

It work holding the reset button while rolling it back UP!!

I don't know why it was the reverse process for me but playing around with different order seems to work.

By the way, rolling the window AUTOMATICALLY versus MANUALLY is the two different clicks in the switch where the first click is the MANUAL roll, and the second click(completely pressed) is the AUTO.....stupid me, i couldn't figure out what they meant by that earlier.

so glad it's working ok again, i'm way out of my warranty and i'm just the type of person who doesn't like bringing the car to the dealership.

I have the same problem, and my car is ao 04.. so i go to herb chambers infiniti to get a coupe of things looked at, since i am still under warrenty. I wanted an oil change and get my rear clicking problem fixed with the window. I have greddy side skirts, and they won't do the oil change or fix the rear problem because they said their lift might crack the skirts.. so i ask them to fix the window, and they say it will be $120 because it is a reset and it is not under warrenty any more. It seems that the warrenty for resets and things like that are 1 year or 12k miles.. wtf.. the sales person never told me any of that..

i am gonna go back to the original dealership where i bought the car from and see what they say..

had the same problem on my 04. the window would go down fine but only go halfway up, click and go back down. Took it to the dealer and they changed the motor out while i waited. Get it checked out, thats what the warranty is for. oh yeah, i've only had this problem with the passenger door.

I have a 2003 G35 coupe.

My passenger side window regulator went bad and the window would get stuck when I rolled it all the way down. After reading some treads, I found a workaround: slam the door really hard. It worked and the window could then be closed. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the window regulator under warranty.

Now my driver side is acting up and I'll share the symptoms here:
- Window is moving up higher than usual (to the point it pushes this rubber thingy on the front end of the door a little too much)
- Pinch protection sometimes kicks in when auto-closing the window (window then rolls back down partially)
- Window gets stuck inside the door when you roll it down all the way

I'll try this reset procedure. I really hope it works because I'm out of the warranty. I'll share my results later.

Resetting the window didn't help. If anything, it made it worse. I now had to slam the door even harder in order for it to "come lose" and roll up after it would get stuck at the bottom.

I am taking it in to have the regulator replaced. ka-ching. :-(

So I did do a reset and it worked great for about a month, now its doing the same thing again, when hit the auto button goies up then comes down a 1/4 way. But the window would still roll down for door opening and closing, not it does not really roll down at all when I close and open the door, and it started doing it again slowly, just once in a while, now it just does it every day. The wierd part about it, this started to happened during a 5 hour ride to work in a huge snow storm. Anyone has a same happened ever?
Any info would be great.
I will be trying to reset it again soon.
Thank you in advance.

definatly a common problem with both the G and the Z. my passenger side had this problem and my coworker's 350z had the same. my window also ended up getting scratched because of this.

See if you can roll it up manually for the second, then without letting go of the switch, click to auto, release the switch, and see if it rolls all the way up. Mine did this as well, though mine would only raise 1-2" and then go back down and refuse to go up afterwards unless I did it manually, then use the auto feature after. The dealer replaced my regulator under warranty and it has solved the issue, except for the some wind whistle that I'll have to address next time I'm at the dealer.

My drivers side window did the same thing, one day it went up, and then it lowered itself about 1/4 of the way down and stopped.

They replaced my motor, and its been fine since then.

To avoid any undo stress on the motor, in the winter months I simply tap the window switch to lower the window about 1/16". This disables the auto up/down feature, and prevents having the frozen window syndrome in the winter months.

It still seals fine, no wind noise or leaks, and I know I will be able to open the door without it hitting the top painted moulding on the door.

Just a suggestion for those in the colder climates.
