Some questions about the interior

I'm looking to get a new car this summer and I think the G35 fits me, it's a coupe, v6, hot looks, and reliable. My other options were the 350Z (only a 2seater) or RX-8 (horrible mileage, too sporty). I've also thought about the IS350 or new G35 sedan, but I'm a young guy (22yo) and I rarely have more than two people in the car at a time.

Onto the questions haha. I've seen some interior shots with the orange stitching on the steering wheel and some without, I always thought the orange was standard? I'd rather have an all black steering wheel without the orange stitching though.

Is there a way to change the backlight of the center stack/console and gauge from orange to another color such as red?

How does the Intelligent Key system work? Does it work like the 2007 G35 where I just keep the key in my pocket, walk into the car and push a button? I saw some pictures and it seems like it'll unlock the car, but I'll still have ot insert the key, although I'm not sure.

With the 2008 G37 coming out, will we be seeing some deep discounts on the latest 2007 coupes? I remember the 2006 G35 sedans were discounted to around $27000 back in August.

1. The orange stitching comes with the sport suspension package. It includes that, 19" rims and some other stuff.

2. Yes, you can change it. Some guys on here have changed it to blue but from what I've heard, it takes some time.

3. With the intelligent key, there's different sensors on the car to recognize the key so you don't have to take it out of your pocket, like you said. There are black buttons on the doors to unlock the car and one on the trunk lid to open that. I'm also pretty sure that if you have your key fob inside the car, you can't go outside and lock yourself out. And regarding ignition, on my '06 coupe, it isn't a push button start, but you don't have to put a key in there if you have your intel key. You just have to push in and twist it clockwise.

4. I'm not an infiniti rep, but I'd guess if a model just came out that superseded another model, prices of the previous model would go down more than usual.

I really think the answer is "no, you can't." Just to be clear to the OP, you "can" change it, but it's a major/advanced and time-consuming DIY job.

the RX8 too sporty??? I was thinking more along the line of too feminine...

I just went from a 350Z to a G35C...if you're looking for comfort with styling and classiness, get the G35C...if you a true sports car that has all the roughness and ruggedness of a sports car, get the Z...

the G is luxury, and the Z is stripped plain to make it as simple as possible...

I loved the Z, I had to give it up for comfort cuz it was killing my back....

So there is a **** in place of the ignition key that you turn? Instead of putting a key in, there's a "key" welded into place?

Sorry, I guessed that you were talking about the new sedans because the g35 6MT coupes don't have intelligent keys.

AT has intelli key...when you get in the car leave your keys in your pocket, no push start simply twist where you would normally insert the key
