yeah.. so mine is slowly deteriorating with leather (or is it pleather?) flaking about. looks like it's time to buy a new shift boot or customize the gates a la classic lamborghini.

anyone know where to purchase aftermarket shift boots that will not flake?

 

Welcome to the club. You can buy the entire center console for grubbs (the shift boot is included), there was a guy who made aftermarket shift boot for the 350z for $40.00, It's a scam. I never recieved the boot.

Or keep an eye out at the salvage yards, younger people are buying G35's now and I see more of them in the yards, usually crumpled up.

i just got a MOMO boot on mine. remove your stocker, place it over the
new MOMO one. cut it, make some slits for the tabs to mount into the
shifter trim. done.

mine wasn't flaking, i just didnt like the look of the factory faux leather.
