Stopping mirror from rattling

I have a couple subs in my car and the only thing that seems to rattle is the mirror. I have the homelink mirror. Does anyone have any suggestions to stop this mirror from rattling?

I assume you're talking about rearview mirror. There are a lot of threads about this, you should be able to find something using the search function. I used to always squeeze the mirror with my hand, which would stop it for a short while, then I used a rubber band which I put around it and that kept it quiet. But the most effective was complaining to the dealer during every oil change, and finally after almost two years, they replaced it. It's quiet now. Good luck.

I just got my mirror replaced. Quite honestly, I'll be really surprised if it makes any difference. I saw a thread discussing how the owner took the mirror apart and put backing tape around the corners and put it back together. That seems to be the fix all for most of our creaks and rattles.

I just smack mine when it starts to rattle... It's always fun when people are in the car when I smack it... They are like "wtf?". Heh.

The dealer replaced mine and it was perfect for two months. The rattle began last week once again. I have given up on it. Keep the stereo volume louder is what most Infiniti owners will tell you.

Giving up is exactly what Infiniti and the dealers hope for with regards to most of the inherent problems. (rattles, tire wear issues, paint chipping)

I use the mirror squeeze to temporarily stop the rattle. When I complained to the dealer, I was told they could replace it, but that "they all eventually rattle a little", so it would only be a temp fix. When I get motivated enough I will take it apart and use something like silicone or felt to buffer the 2 pieces.

I took my mirror apart a year ago and siliconed it. It's been rattle free since.

Dealer repalced mine and the problems stopped, but sure enough, a month later, it all came back.
