Heel Wear Pad f/ Floor mats

I have an 05 6MT. I am getting ready to order me up some new floor mats. Not because they are dirty, they are very clean, but I have worn a hole in them with my heel.

With a new set of mats, I would like to find some sort of floor mat wear pad to protect the mat in that area. I have seen floor mats to come with a heel pad sowed or glued to the mat, but I am looking for aftermarket options to apply to OEM mats.

Or does anyone have a better solution with a different aftermarket mat?

Thank you,

Better shoes. I try to only drive with driving shoes. Becuase of the rolling heel design they tend to be more forgiving to the mat. I'm on my original and have 74,000 miles on my 05.

NISMO does not make mats for the LHD G35's.... only RHD Skyline 350GT which do not fit in the G...

Some people have put 350z mats in, but they dont fit well IMHO...

All season mats are out of the question. Butt ugly. I want quality carpet. I am just looking for a wear pad that can be applied to the mat.

Different shoes, while a good idea are not practical. My car is a daily driver, and I wear a variety of dress shoes to work, unfortunately they are probably very hard on the mats.

There is always the option to purchase new carpeted OEM mats...

The newer Z mats have a rubber wear pad under the pedals, but not the G mats...

I am the same as you. My carpet mats can get quite messy in the wintertime but I refuse to use all season rubber mats as I think they are quite unsightly. The carpet mats in the 07 G Sedan are considerably thinner than the previous years so they are wearing out rather quickly. I'll just buy another set when the time comes.

The 07-08 rubber mats are actually quite nice... they fit perfectly into the interior...

These are the 07-08 sedan mats...

I wear a suit and tie to work with Pilotti's . I change in my office in the morning to dress shoes and change back when heading home. The Pilotti's are slip on and could be slipped on in the car.

Driving shoes? Lets be serious here, we are daily driving a car. We arent racing a ferrari's on a track. You can afford that .0003 of a second slip when pushing in the clutch.

This just seems extreme. Its a car, its meant to be driven.

In one respect I think if you cvan affort a G. You should be able to afford new mats when you need them. But in another respect they are pretty exspensive for the quality you get. I went through 2 sets in my QX56 already.
Thanks!

I said driving, not racing. In addition, with a 54 mile commute i want to be coomfortable. A clutch pedal and dress shoes don't mix well and the cost of the dress shoes is another consideration. I offered a solution, you offer a jab. My original mat's look great - read no heel spot wear - after 74,000 miles. My way works.
