Question Problem with interior leather (door, not seats)

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if any of you ran into the same problem as mine. You see on the rear driver side door leather on the door started to rip open. I've never seen such a thing and searching did not help. I'm about ready to take the door apart and super glue it (and provide DIY of course), but before I start something potentially stupid I wanted to see if anyone has any experience they would like to share.

Appreciate any input, what ever I do I will publish in DIY form.

It should be covered under warranty if you are still under it

Alas, it is 2003 model and while I keep my miles low (only 54k), it is 5 month out of warranty (over 4 years).

i had my rear ones replaced under warranty.. the service manager told me that they tried gluing it back on previous cars witht the same issue but it would not fix the problem very long

That happened on my drivers side door. Fixed it by replacing the door panel inserts with white suede.
