That tear is pretty common although many owners are not aware that it is covered under warranty. The plastic piece that is right next to it is the culprit causing the tear. That piece needs to be filed down or changed or the problem will reoccur. I'm lucky that mine wasn't torn but my seat cushion collapsed and was covered under warranty.

Any of you who got your leather seat covers or seat cushions replaced experience any seat track problems after getting this warranty work done? I've had seat track problems in the past and they're far more annoying than a small tear. Considering they'd probably have to take the seat out to perform this fix, I just want to make sure I'm not creating a new problem trying to solve the other one.

I believe there is a repair bulletin for this. It requires the dealer to smooth the edge of the plastic to eliminate this problem.

I Found it Here

I had my drivers seat bottom replaced under warranty, but it was because of the collapsing foam cushion. They replaced both foam and leather seat bottom under warranty, and repaired my rocking/squeeky seat.

Unfortunately, the squeek, rock, knock noise is back....but it took over 3 years to reappear.

Yup, mine is tearing there, but at 85K I just will let it take it's course until I just cant stand it then have the front 2 recovered at a shop here... Can get the entire interior done for less that 1500 in Houston, with better leather.

after doing a bit of research and if im not trippin' on acid on this, i guess it's the basic factory warranty of 4 years and 60k miles...

but i'm going to be finding out tomorrow..and it's 2008 right now..and usually people buy the car a year early...
