Re: Gauge Cluster Removal DIY
Oh! Now I see why you did that. The action steps and pictures were very well done, but I missed the punch line altogether. Thanks for explaining.

Re: Gauge Cluster Removal DIY
Thanks for the comments. I'm waiting for someone else to do the bulb part. I thought about the bulb changeout but when I saw that the lens was orange I didn't look any further.
kroams: I do have more pics for the actual V1 install. I'll get those up soon. The only drawback is that it covers the turn signals and high beam indicator. It was a decent sacrifice because now my remote is pretty much in my line of sight but nowhere to be seen from the outside looking in.

Re: Gauge Cluster Removal DIY
Sorry to stray a bit but the eventual move of this DIY to the DIY section reminded me of it. Awhile back I made what I thought was a very good suggestion but I don't know if any mods/admin ever did anything with it. Basically I wanted them to archive the pics and change the thread to point to the applicable archived pics whenever they decided to move it into the DIY section. DIY's like these are invaluable to the G community and should be treated as such. I hate going into the DIY section, clicking on a thread and seeing a bunch of red X's because the images are no longer to be found. We can't rely on some image links to an old yahoo briefcase forever! So I ask you again mods/admins, please archive the photos for threads in the DIY section. That way when someone wants to view a DIY, they're guaranteed to see the all important pics for that DIY. Let's face it, a DIY without pics is pretty close to useless. Ok, I've said my piece. :-)

TrentaCinque; When you say the 'lens' was orange and you went no further, Do you mean the bulbs were white and the cover itself was orange? This may be invaluable information prior to going in to do this mod.

Yeah the actual lens where the dashes and numbers are is orange. I don't know that the bulbs are white but I'm assuming so. Others have posted pics of blue gauge lights but they won't give up any info on what color and what type of bulbs they used.
