Dimmer Mirror

Dimmer Mirror
I have an 05 g35x with the reguler rear view mirror(Not premium model). I want to upgrade it to a dimmer mirror one, but i notice that there was a wire attach to the one with the dimmer and homelink(Premium). Now my question is could i just cut the wire from the dimmer one and how do i take the mirror off? Has any one tried this?

what do you mean cut it off? if you cut the wire off the mirror won't function.. and will be useless.
