As far as the DIY on the shift panel, you buy the 05 panel with the shift boot and you have to bondo the gap left over from the 2004 round panel because the 05 panel is not big enough to cover the 04 completely is why you have to do some bondo work then you just get your 04 console repainted and your good to go. What I found interesting was the 2 screws that go over the 04 panel lined up perfectly with the 05 same spots but that just made it so much easier for me.
IMO it would look better if the shift **** would be sitting a tad lower. The MOMO shift **** looks too tall in our cars. I noticed this when I installed it in my car so I cut like an inch of the plastic piece inside the shift stick. The only drawback is that you won't be able to use your stock shift ****.

If anyone else would like this done to your 03-04 you can always ship me your center console I'll take it to the shop where the work was done at then you could pay the shop over the phone if they can do that not really sure but I'll ask or just give me the money then I'll pay them and ship your center console back to you. It will take about 2 days to do the bondo work because the shift panel in the 05 starts to curve upright and it's kind of a pain in the ***** to bondo according to how the shift panel shapes, but it can be done and looks so much better than that hideous round panel put in the 03-04.
