DIY 03 AT shift **** to an 06 AT shift ****!

I have been looking around an reading and Infiniti wanted to sell me over $100 worth of parts to swap to a newer shift ****! Here are pics of how I put an 06 AT shift **** in my 04 coupe! I got this shift **** from a member on driver! I got part number 34951-CG000 from Infiniti for $19.00. Here's ho I made it work!

Pics of stock shift ****!

**** removed and factory adpt-compresion in clear plastic!

Part I got at my local Infiniti dealer!

Part installed!

Heres a pic of the groove I have to make in the 06 ****! The **** groove sets about 1/8 higher than the stock 03 ****! Now with the grove in I can clip the **** in place! You may be able to grind down the blue part that i got from Infiniti to allow the **** to drop an 1/8 inch!

Heres the bottom beauty cover for the shift **** that cover the clip! Do to cutting the groove in the **** the clip was moved down! when i installed the beauty trim it would nit fit! I have to get some needle noes pliers and brake some plastic out of the beauty trim! Heres what I had to do!

Heres how it looks done and installed!

Do you have a color to match the willow shifter leather? How much are your leather booths?
