my custom headrest camera mount

So I finished my headrest camera mount. I would call this ver.1 because I wouldn't mind making changes to the mounting angle,
but it works well enough for the few times Im going to use it, so it may never really change.

First up is the initial prototype made from a clear polyethelene type plastic

This second shot is of the final version built in another technology using stronger polycarbonate plastic

The rest of these is everything coming together, if you havent noticed its a 2pc design. I took an existing tripod tilt and swivel mount
and adopted it to a neck i reversed engineered from my tripod. I then made up the headrest mounting arm and pressed fit the mounting neck into the arm.
Now I can go from my tripod to my headrest mount with very little effort.

These are the views from the camera while mounted.

Now I just need to get a better camera and a good dedicated digital video camera

I've got some video from a cruise this weekend, nothing exciting, but it wasnt too bad for a test. The mount definitely gives way to vibrating, between the design and the unoccupied seat wobbling, but the video is still clear to view.

I'll upload it later and update this post for those interested.

Yeah, I built a mount for my hd camcorder and it vibrated awfully. My mount was made out of thick heavy metal to try and combat flexing. Gonna try to get this seat wobbling thing figured out when it gets warmer. I am guessing that just looking at the mounting points on the floor will not be enough.

I made one out of a aluminum bar with a few nuts and bolts. Mine also vibrated. I used some straps to strap the mount down using the baby seat hooks and the vibration was greatly reduced.
