Big Problem with 06 G35 Coupe seats
Sorry about all the problems you guys have had, really annoying!
My problem is when a passenger wants to get in teh rear seat, I have to press that button on the back of the seat so that the seat moves forward. It does not unfortunately move back to the original position once I fold the seat back into the 'click' position.
Anyone had this problem? It is REALLY annoying at times.

Guys as a fellow board member, G owner and unfortunately another poor bastard that has this problem I have to say its truly remarkable that no one has figured out a fix to this yet! Honestly guys, I searched and came up with 5 other threads with this exact same problem in the last year alone with one quick easy search. This is pathetic has no one taken the time to figure this out?
I'm currently undergoing this same issue. Seat is out I've tested the connectors to see if the motors are getting power. The three motos beneath the seat are receiving 12v for either actions as they should. However, 2 out of the 3 motors aren't funtioning. Tomorrow I'll continue to look them over more carefully to make sure that this isn't a mechanical issue with the mechanism but at this point I would guess this is faulty motors. My seat aswell was able to recline all the way back but not capable of coming back up. This may be because of the extra work required to do so however, even with assistance its not adjustable.
As many people have asked before, if anyone has figured this one out without the "dealership under warranty" answer I think many members would benefit from this information. I'm a little depressed in thinking that I may be the first one to clear this one up for a whole group of enthusiasts for a car that has been around for nearly a decade.

update: its not the motor, I'm moving on to the switches. I don't have time to screw with them today. However, I could use some help from my fellow board members.
I don't think I have enough posts to start a "WTB" thread yet. If anyone knows of a driver side switch for an 05 coupe I'll buy it.

My passenger seat just went out. I called the stealership they quoted me 1200 to repair. They stated they don't sell the motor by itself they need to replace the whole frame. It sounds bullishh to me. I've also heard if you press the switch button and tap on the motor you can get the seat to move to the position you want. I haven't tried that yet.

Another variation of the problem...
In my case, the problem is on and off. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I can't pinpoint a particular factor. However, I believe there must be a wiring or some sort of control module or even a loose fuse because when the seats won't move, the steering column won't either and those are definitely on separate motors. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the reply. Upon further investigation, all fuses seem ok. Also, I'm now leaning against a fuse issue for the following reasons:
1. I hear a click from the motors when I activate the switches.
2. The passenger seat is on the same fuses and works without a hitch.
3. The condition seems to come and go at random.
I'm traveling tomorrow and wanted my wife to set the seat to her liking in case she needs the car while I'm gone. So I went out to the garage and it was working fine until she sat in it at which point the clicks still came when activating the switches but no motion. The seats would slowing gain back their function. That is, a few seconds after she got up, there would be no movement. A minute later they would creep a bit and stop; after a while, they'd work again.
Again, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

So my problem stabilized. It's not solved however. What I mean by stabilized is, for the past few months, everything's worked fine except the recline for the driver seat. That one is stuck. I took apart the switch but nothing seems to be wrong with it. I need to know where the recliner motor is located so I can diagnose. Any thoughts?
The Passenger recline motor is located in the middle of the left side of the seat if you looking at the seat from the rear. When you zip the 2 zippers up itll expose the backside of the seat and you'll see the motor on the left.
In regards to the seat, in this particular vehicle, the seat, cushion, motors and adjusters are all combined, that's why the $3k price tag, best deal would be like $2500 with discount, doesn't make sense, but indeed you have to get the whole bottom seat with frame and adjusters
