Aluminum Dash

Hey guys, I have a center console with a brushed aluminum dash kit, will post picks later. Anyhoo, its really grown on me and I really wish it was made or plated in real metal.

I seem to remember months ago stumbling on a site that will do this to any dash part if you send it in. Cant find the link, anyone know where I could get this done?

Re: Aluminum Dash

Here are some pics of the Dash Kit Brushed Aluminum. I had to take of the foam rubber backing which took hours and then used spay adhisive. You can get these kits from a number of places but I am not going to plug the place I got it from because their service was awful, and their cut out would not fit right in some places.

Re: Aluminum Dash

By the way, my 2cents of advice if you get one is dont use all the parts. It starts to look really cheep, I actually pulled some off once I took a second look.

Re: Aluminum Dash

Well its holding up pretty good, this pic was taken today and I did the mod about 6 months ago. Its real aluminum, but it has a clear coat on it that came from the factory.

If your like most people here, we babby our cars so it shouldnt be a problem. I read a lot more about scratches on the ones that have the painted titanium finish.

My dream is still to get that part coated with real metal, just cant find the link to the place that does that. There is a process where they can actually spray on real metal.

Re: Aluminum Dash

yes there is some kind of spray on that gets layers so it actually has a metal feel to it, not just look.

Re: Aluminum Dash

Do NOT order the kit from autoaccessorystore.com under any circumstances. They are a bunch of dirty rotten scoundrels that took me for my money. I received a kit that was supposedly real aluminum and was nothing more than thin aluminum like stickers - total pieces of ****. I sent the kit back and never got a refund from the effing bastards.
