Does anyone have thoughts on repairing tears in seats or whatever?

Is there a product that will do a good job of repairing a small tear? Or should I just bite the bullet and take it to a professional and have the area replaced?

I was just noticing today that I have a small tear on the rear side of the center console. Was wondering the same thing about best way to fix it.

 

Just a side note to anyone who might have a similar problem.

I had only a small tear and the solution from upholstery shops was to have to totally re-cover the whole thing (in my case, the center console). This was going to be fairly expensive . . . roughly $150.

I was given the name of a guy who does Leather and Vinyl Repair. He came out to my location and fixed my tear in about 30 minutes and it looks great. I can barely even tell there was ever a tear there and someone who didn't know where to look would never notice it. I am very happy with the result and it was "only" $60.
