Dash light issues, any insight
So I searched and only found issues related to accidental/mysterious use of the dimming **** and my problem is not the dash lights being completely off. This is in an 04-6mt coupe.
My issue is the main cluster, the center computer read out, and the stereo screen readout are on full bright all of the time now. I tried playing with the **** and the lights are non-responsive, they remain full bright all of the time.
The clock light and the rest of the HVAC buttons/radio buttons do not light up at all. Now the activated HVAC lights work, but not the symbols on them.
I noticed this happening monday morning on my way into work, so I am not sure when it started behaving this way.
I've tried playing with dimming **** in numerous ways and playing with the lighting stalk to see if that had any effect...nothing happens.
Any insight?
I'm going to check the fuses when the weather dries up. I'm curious if this is an indication of a light bulb going out causing this to happen. Kind of like how when a blinker light goes out it causes the other to go into hyper-blink mode.
Here's a picture I snapped today with my cell phone. This is with the lights on and the dimmer off:
