Thoughts? Carbon Fiber Door Panels

I haven't found any anywhere. I am talking to a company to make these for me. I'm just curious of you guys think this would be worth it? Or does anyone make them?

Are you talking about the interior panels or the exterior door skin? Pretty sure the exterior door skin is/was already being made. For interior peices most people who want that look are willing to wrap their own. I don't know how much CF you're looking if it's for the interior, I think very few would be willing up all the nice leather unless they were stripping the interior for weight, in which case they'd just run with no interior panels.

I am talking about the interior door panels. I will be building a roll cage and do not want To not have panels. I asked because I seen them for a lot of different cars but yet nothing for the G35. So I was wondering if people will be interested getting them made because I have a Manufacturer who can make them. My car will be a fully legal drift car and there are certain things that I want to keep looking clean. I think this is better than just sheet metal. I was thinking of putting up a group buy for the interior panels once I have a quote. The only carbon fiber I will have will be the door panels and the sunroof cap.

Could be interesting, I am not sure that they would be much lighter than the oem door panels. Most of the weight in the doors is the glass, window motor, and crash bar. I would be interested in seeing this tho.

for a track car i could see a market for it, but for a street wouldnt you have to reenforce the door for safety reasons?

^ he is talking about door panels, they zero to do with reenforcement or saftey, it is a cosmetic item that hold the window switches etc...

If you wanted to be that "Different" have dash/door panels and headliner done in c/f if that's your thing. Pretty sure there's already c/f look vinyl for the seats....

I am not big on cf but I don't want something like flat sheet metal. I just happen to know a shop that works in cf. Three pieces. 2 door panels, 1 sun roof cap. I dont want more than that. It has nothing to do with striving to "be different" I would not post if that was the case. it has nothing to do with shaving weight. I just don't want haggard door panels. I know some buy the cf door panels for the 350z. I like the fact id have an arm rest, door handle and switches in a good spot.

It is not about weight. I dont want to cut up the stock door panels because I would have to wrap them again. The mold is the same price whether cf or fiberglass. I don't want just bare door. It's a drift car and I'm well below the weight now. Removing the sunroof and the other stuff will shed plenty of weight. I hear the sunroof assembly is pretty heavy.
