mine(IGT v2) isn't just the top wrapped, the entire "grip" portion of the wheel is redone.

Its not just the top half. The bottom has to be re molded, them re finished. Then the whole steering wheel is custom wrapped, to get the foam just perfect so it looks aggressive like it does. Its also a thicker grip. It takes a lot of time to do the work to get that wheel. It does cost a lot, because its a lot of labor to do things like that. But if you just want a carbon fiber wheel, thats not a custom job buy one of these

I need a Facepalm icon. Really? Steering wheel cover?

I was just interested in wrapping the top grip, considering that it's starting to show signs of wear.

.

I was just being an ***. I am a custom interior person for the shop I work at, and I had had one of THOSE kind of days. I quoted a guy what I thought was a fair price to redo his ENTIRE interior. Meaning I rip everything out, make his new seat covers, make his..... EVERYTHING. Its expensive to do ANYTHING custom. HE then flipped SHIZZZ on me told me he would never ever pay someone that much to do an interior. Then proceeded for 45 minutes to lecture me as to everyone these days wants so much for what they do in a trade. HE assumed I was a high school drop out and tried to thrash me. I have graduated high school top 5% in my class. Graduated college with my degree in Biology, double minor in Exercise Phys. and Psychology. I own my own clothing company and am 25 with a baby boy due any day. I do car interiors because I enjoy doing it. Its my hobby. Interior and car audio! So when he Ripped into me I had just had enough that day so to you Mr. Brett sorry for being an ***.

You're fine. I understand getting thrashed. I wait tables part time to pay for school, so it seems like a lot of people automatically assume that I'm stupid, even though it's my job and not a career.

I know interior stuff can get pricey. I didn't realize at first that the whole steering wheel had been reworked until SD showed me a side by side. For some reason, I was under the assumption that the 06+ G's came with that style of steering wheel...

Edit: Well not EXACTLY that style, but that they had the squared bottom...

Steering wheel is so freaking sick dude. I always think of it when I think of steering wheels.

If it was 1"+ smaller in diameter I'd do something like this to my stock wheel too. I want something smaller though for AutoX....

Maybe I'll do a quick disconnect between smaller ugly/cheap wheel and a modded stock wheel for daily driving..... hmmm you have me thinking

You may be able to do something with a quick release for factory-autoexe. There are some threads on how to do it.

What's everyone doing with the chinsy cloth around the power seat switches? I am trying to get ideas for some trim pieces

SD - if you go with after market seats do you lose the auto controls for moving the seats around. I don't mind this for my side, but would like to retain auto seats for the passenger.
