Seat works *but*...

I've searched but haven't found an answer to this specific issue:
(2006 G35x) the passenger seat moves forward and backward but only about 2 inches in either direction. It only moves forward that much because it's fully forward, and then will only slide back 2 inches and stops. So motor is fine. It's not one gear working and the other side isn't. Can't figure it out. I can remove the seat but not sure what to look for. If anyone has a suggestion I'd appreciate it.

Is the switch bad? Mine would recline backward, but struggle coming forward, and it finally just wouldn't recline forward anymore at all. Picked up a used switch and all is well. Best way to confirm if it's the switch or motor is to apply 12V directly to the motor and see if it functions correctly.

I have same prob in 04, up/down thigh adjustment. Goes up and stays there, so fuse ok, but just doesnt want to go down. Lousy driving position. Can't find anything on forums for a fix.

It's likely the plastic gear. It's a 10 cent part (that sells on eBay for a lot more). Search for G35 Seat Gear.

Is there a manual adjust? I have to import gear from US so will take a while. I'm in Australia, hard to get parts here.
