unique shift knob
wow.. i tried to install the ****, but the damn stock **** does NOT budge... I used a wrench to secure the shaft, and another wrench to get the shift ****, but it doesn't move.. help anyone!!!
Yeah it was a bitch to get the old **** off.
You just have to set up your wrenches so you can get a lot of leverage on the top wrench. I didn't want to damage my shift linkage, so I was very hesitant at first to put all my strength into it. Just make sure your locking wrench doesn't slip.
Good luck.

Make sure the upper wrench is clamped to the flat sides of the OEM ****. This will help prevent slippage with the towel in between.

lol, thx for the tips, I was afraid I was tugging too hard. I got the wrench to hold the shaft and had that locked in place. I used a tower to save my stock shift ****, but it kept slipping so I did it w/o the towel.. Needless to say.. my stock **** got OWNED, and the new one is looking pimp
will post pics soon :P

Got mine on Friday.. installed it today. Looks great, feels great. I had the Nismo Titanium shift **** (not the GT one) on before this one and the Nismo **** got stripped (the thread is plastic) which is why I ordered the FI ****. Thanks Clint and Sharif! I'm a satisfied customer

I had no problem at all with the **** removal. Adjustable vice grips on the shaft and a large pipe wrench on the **** for easy leverage. I used a leather glove covered with a small towel over the ****. Infiniti suggests cutting rubber rad hose to fit around the **** for protection but I didn't have any around.
hopefully i get my shift ****.... i ordered it saturday morning... hopefully i get one of those 7! haha. i kept on forgetting to check this thread and didnt realize the GB started! haha
