Ah yeah it must be the washer then... must have missed it when I pulled the stock ****.

RBull, I had an adjustable vise grip as well as a pipe wrench, the leverage from the wrench was no problem, the issue was that it kept slipping even after I tightened it all the way.

Pop off the shifter console and grab the shifter shaft from below the shifter boot. I used a Visegrip with tape applied to the jaws. Be sure to hold the grips steady as you remove the shifter **** .

Received the **** on Monday AM here in Japan.

Swapped out the stock **** with the new THX **** over lunch and had a chance to experience it driving home tonight.

I always liked the stock **** .. HOWEVER ...

the new **** feels strange at first since it is smaller .... but it is soooo much better - very direct feel and shifting due to the throw weight and shortness - I love it.

+ 16 on a scale of 1 to 10.

I love this shift ****, feels great and shifting is smoother for me cause of the weight.. but.. it gets really cold with this 20 degree mornings here :P

riZingsun,
Good to know there's another fan out there in Japan. We have a few other THX-SS running around there. Maybe you guys will run into eachother. hehe.

Jee 35,
That is a pretty nice pic!

Yeah, 20-deg. will make any metal object pretty cold to the touch. Just be glad it is no where nearly as bad as aluminum.

Enjoy!

If it's the pipe wrench that's surprising but perhaps you were using it in the wrong direction. Pipe wrench has to be fitted so that it will tighten when turned counterclockwise for removal.
The vise grips were what I was originally worried about but they gripped well on the shaft.

Enjoy your new shift **** and improved shifting.

Heh, thanks... I know how to use a pipe wrench. Seems like I wasn't the only one who tore up my stock **** (it's really just scratched up) so I don't feel too bad.

just got my shift **** yesterday and seriously im impressed. its alot smaller than it looks in the pictures. it fits perfectly in your hand and has a nice feel to it.

this in combination with my rogue engineering short shifter is perfect. It might even be too short now. but i love it. haha

Are there any plans to etch a logo or shift layout on the top of the ****? This would look pretty nice with an Infiniti logo etched onto the top.
