MOMO Shift **** Problem

I've had my MOMO shift **** installed for about 2 years. In the last week, it had become kinda loose. I couldn't separate the shiny bottom piece from the top piece to get to the little screws. I've had to put on the factory shifter.

Any ideas on how to get the shifter separated?

Maybe try wrapping a thin towel around the metal piece (to protetct the finish) and use some vice grips to help you twist the thing off, and use a table mounted clamp or another set of grips held by someone else and twist the crap out of it!

Try using a little WD-40.
