Help! Removing center console causes damage

This is my first attempt at taking apart the dash to get behind the radio of my G. Everything was flowing smoothly until I got to the base console around the shifter. I can lift it up and get the rear portion up but the front area doesn't seem to detach. Worse yet, when I forced it, it damaged the console aluminum. It looks like it is still attached somewhere but I don't know where.

Look closely and you can see the damage from trying to pull the piece.

Please help my baby is in pieces but I really want to get my ipod connected to my headunit.

Time to trade it in. j/k

When you say infiniti-parts do you mean infiniti parts.com or the parts department at your local infiniti dealership? If you meant the .com, then I would call your local parts department.
