What will the dealer do.? (I have those little hairline cracks in my headlights)

I know people on here have had those little hairline cracks in their headlights because of whatever reason. I was just wondering what your dealer did for you or didnt do...im still under warranty, any advise will be greatly appreciated....

I haven't been to the dealer so I may not tell you anything you want to know.
The 'hairline cracks' that I see in my headlights aren't cracks. They are mold marks from the plastic molding process. I'm not crazy about seeing them, but they don't bother me enough to try to buff them out. If your headlight are in fact cracked. I am sure the dealer will fix/replace them for you under warrenty. Good luck!

I'm not sure but I think he might be refering to cracks on the inside of the headlight housing. I have cracks on both headlights on the rounded part below the head light and above the fog light. The reflective metal/plastic (or whatever its made out of) part on the inside, not the clear plastic housing on the outside. Is that what you're asking about blazinZ? If so I think someone else had a post about getting it changed from the dealer.

yes, i am..

they are very noticable, I think there from the 6000k bulbs being to hot so it caused them to crack.. im putting the stock bulbs back in and going to the dealer friday. But its def not the molding on the outside of the light..

i just wanted to know if anyone had any experience with the dealer in this matter...so i know what to expect thats all.........

the 03-05 are made really fragile, any compression on the headlight itself will crack it. I doubt High heat would be the issue. As I've put headlights in the oven at 375 degrees F. they don't crack like that.

Yeah I'm not sure about the heat theory either considering I have stock bulbs in mine and still have a crack in each light. I've thought about taking it to the dealer and seeing if warranty covers it, but I've decided on 2006 projectors down the road so I'm just sticking it out until then.

Myself and another FGC member had ours replaced under warranty at Lokey Infiniti. WE have always ran the OEM bulbs, so I guess our headlight housings are very delicate. Make sure you put the OEM bulbs in before taking it to the dealer so they can't blame your higher-K bulbs.

What I dont understand is the company made the housing so fragile but the bracket for the reflectors are SOOOO heavy duty that it broke one of my dremels. Ridiculous.

they will probably deny warrenty since you have "aftermarket" bulbs and they will blame it on that for some bull**** reason. just put some oem ones back in there and then take it to the dealer. they are just a$$holes like that. and they will use anything to blame it on u. i bet if u had overlays or something or even painted the housing with high temperature paint they will blame it on that to deny warrenty. good luck just take it to the dealer with oem stuff and nothing aftermarket that has to do anything with headlights/electricity and they will cover it all. when i mean anything connected i do NOT mean shift ***** and so on. good luck

i just put the oem bulbs back in so theres all stock lighting in the headlights... i take it in tmr. so i'll see what happens. I do however have overlays on my car but, theres almost no way they can deny warranty over that.. but then again you never know what the stealerships will say. i'll keep you all posted....
