I see some threads with people using DS2 and then some using DR2, which type of bulb should be used on a 05 and also anyone tried these bulbs? Thoughts? They are a good deal cheaper than Phillips

oem bulbs are d2r. d2s is a projector bulb. 05 does not have projetors without retrofitting or buying a 06 projector headlight. d2r vs d2s. they are basically the same bulbs with different style notces. d2r has a black coating so stray light doesn't go everywhere and blind people like hid kits. d2s does not since the light is directed with a cutoff shield. people can use d2s in the reflector housing by making a d2r notch. d2s has better output as some people say. i only recommend phillips or osram as d2s bulbs since they last. don't buy those cheap *** pus$y bulbs since they will probably only last you 10k miles while the phillips d2s is just broken in by then
