Headlamp hazing at 6 months?

Is headlamp hazing common on Infiniti's/Nissans? I've got an 05 Grand Cherokee (that we've had for over a year and with 27k) and when I clean up the headlights, crystal clear. I'm about to roll 6k on the G and they're already starting to haze. Not scratch/chip, but turning opaque. Could waxing them with something like Meguiar's help out since it's just starting? I'm a little cautious about using anything abrasive on plastic. I tried Invisible Glass cleaner and buffed it but with no luck. What's the soonest you guys have noticed this? Contemplating calling the dealer out on this one because this is waaaay too early.

Yes, it's normal.
You need to use a 3M plastic cleaner or one like Meguiar's plastix which is what I use. Check the TSB section for full details.

i had a Grand Cherokee up until a year ago and had the same spotless experience there.

The same thing happened to me and I took into the dealer and they polished or something it and now its pretty clear. Not 100% perfect but much better. I didnt make an appointment or anythint, they just did it in 5 minutes.

I've lent my bottle to many members and have always gotten good comments.

Yeah, just get some plastic cleaner and apply it on the headlamp, it should clear it up. I had the same thing happen to mine i actually took gasoline to the lamps and it took the fog right off. The fog/smog (whatever it is) was actually on the outside not the inside even though it appears to be on the inside.

Plexus is a great product for your headlamps and clear bras. However, make sure the haze is outside and not inside. Mine was inside and I was lucky enough to have the dealership change both headlamps under warranty.

but how soon have you guys noticed the hazing? contemplating fixing the haze and getting some clear overlays to prevent it from coming back.

Do not use gasoline on your headlights.

Gasoline applied to any headlight or taillight will create hundreds of tiny cracks in the plastic. I've seen this happen to a bunch of peoples cars over the years when they spilled gas on their headlights or taillights and didn't immediately flush it with water and soap. Someone on this forum also posted about a year or so ago about how they made cracks in their headlights when they spilled gas on them too.

i'm not complaining about the chrysler. i stated that when i wipe the headlights, they're as clear as when we drove it off the lot. most of the people on here are proof that the headlamps haze up rather quickly.

Mine started hazing bad too... dealer thru some mystery wax and buffed them and wallah...back to beautiful.

Now I just put some car polish on them and rub really hard, works fine.
