Re: Faux Fogs - Exterior Mount

All I can say to this mod is BUHAHAHAHA!

You might as well get some 99 cent Eveready flashlights and place them there as well. That will be my next mod...

Plus streamers from my little 4 year old nephew's bike and place them on my mirrors. A confederate flag on my door, LED Dice caps on my valve stems, drill a hole in there rear so I can place a flag that says "#1 Super Kid!" . Pink LED washer lights in front of my headlights. Instead of using tint film on my windows, I'll just Krylon spray paint all my windows black and only leave 2 eye holes on the front so I can see.

So many ideas, plenty of 1 dollar bills to do it, but just no time... Nah I meannn

- Don't argue with idiots. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.=P-

Re: Faux Fogs - Exterior Mount

I personally would not have done it. But hey, if you like it, that's all that matters. It's your car. No one will know it doesn't work except for you. Unlike others, I can't bash you....after all, how is this "mod" any different than the grills, NISMO stickers, big *** spoilers, aftermarket wheels, etc? They serve one purpose, cosmetics. That's why I got my SSR's. To each his own....

couldn't agree with MyG35Coupe more.. it's your own car.. do whatever you want with it.. if you want to show it off in a post, go for it, but you're gonna get people who like and dislike your mod.. but like i said, who cares, as long as you like it, it's fine..

if it looks good to you, then it's a nice mod. everyone has different tastes. no matter what you do to your car, there will always be a group of people with negative criticisms. don't let their sarcasm and criticisms think otherwise.

my 2 cents

Hmmm... I think some of you guys scared Machine away.

Too bad... I would looking forward to seeing close-up pics of the fogs and the rims.

So can anyone tell me which rims Machine has on his car? Anyone recognize them?

Some of you guys are pompous *******s.

I think that was a bit uncalled for. You spend over $30k for this car, but can't spend an extra $50 to get them wired up? On a larger scale, its similar to the 80's when people used to put fiberglass shells of Ferrari's and Lambo's on their pontiac fiero. "Because it looks cool." Either wire them up or spend an extra $50 and have someone do it for you, then you will get mad props. You may call that pompous, I call it trying to help my fellow g35 enthusiast choose the right path.

Re: Faux Fogs - Exterior Mount

Do you really think throwing a set of cheap fogs and not wiring them can compare to putting a fiberglass "Ferrari" body kit on a Fiero?

Sorry, but that's about as apples and oranges as can be.

Let me ask you this-- even though the fogs were cheap Wal Mart jobs, if the guy took the time to wire them up, what would you think of his mod then?

Re: Faux Fogs - Exterior Mount

If he would have left off the part about wiring them up then most of us would have been cool with the mod.
As far as the pompous a$$ thing - go to the BMW forum if you want to hear pompous. No body compares to those guys - I had to put up with that sh^t for three years.

I said it was on a "larger scale." This is nothing compared to those guys, but its based on the same principle.

I would applaud him. The fogs being cheap has nothing to do with my take on the matter.

Re: Faux Fogs - Exterior Mount

I must admit, we do have the occasion to be a bit pompous, but in the grand scheme of things, we're just out there to be helpful and to offer constructive criticism. Sometimes we forget the "constructive" part

Re: Faux Fogs - Exterior Mount

I've had my car ~ a month. Since then I've been on this forum just about everyday (get a life, right?) But seriously, this forum is very educational and almost all of the people are willing to be helpful and constructive.
Thanks to all..... C
Edited by cliverman on 10/03/03 06:29 PM.

Hey, we try... and be careful how you throw around that "no life" stuff. Some of us work at our computers so it's, uh, a good distraction
